One of the unexpected highlights of the FIFA World Cup was the incredible friendship, humour, and energy Scotland brought to Boston. The Tartan Army were not only passionate supporters — they were beloved guests, and many quickly became friends.

That connection now feels especially meaningful as Boston and Glasgow are officially partnered as sister cities. With shared histories, strong immigrant ties, sport, music, culture, and a deep sense of civic pride, the relationship between the two cities gives us a natural bridge across the Atlantic.

Boston Private Tours is now exploring ways to build on that connection. Working with our new Scottish friends and trusted local partners, we would like to offer private Boston tours for Scottish visitors, Glasgow-based groups, football supporters, families, and cultural travelers who want a more personal introduction to our city.

We also hope to develop opportunities for our Boston and New England guests to experience Scotland through knowledgeable local hosts — from Glasgow and Edinburgh to castles, historic landscapes, whisky country, and the Highlands.

What began as a World Cup visit has grown into something bigger: friendship, partnership, and a shared invitation to explore both sides of the Atlantic.
