About Us

Founded in 2005, we are a family-owned, Boston-based private tour company, something surprisingly rare in today’s travel landscape. Our founder, Bill McDonough, discovered his love of history as a Western Union messenger in1950sBoston, walking the city’s streets long before he went on to teach history at both the high school and college levels. That deep connection to Boston and NewEnglandhistory has been passed on to the next generation—two of his four grown children now work alongside him in the family business.

Our mission is to provide private experiences and tours of the highest quality throughout Boston and New England, whether for individual travelers, families, academic groups, or corporate and executive clients. We work exclusively with experienced, personable, andhighlyeducatedlocalguides who bring historical depth, clarity, and engaging storytelling to every tour.

Through our team, we offer a wide range of customized private tours by foot or private vehicle, including sedans, SUVs, vans, limousines, and chartered coaches, tailored to your interests, pace, and schedule. Our experiences span Boston’s historic neighborhoods, sites along Massachusetts’ North and South Shores, and destinations throughout New England, including Newport, Rhode Island—all delivered with care, flexibility, and a strong commitment to accuracy and service.
